What's up everybody? With the unofficial ‘end of summer’ knocking loudly at our door, it seems like the perfect time to reach out and let y'all know what I've been up to.
First up, I'm very excited to share the stage once again with my close friend Bobby Easton, this Saturday August 30 at The Good Bar in Long Beach. Bobby and I spent more than a decade together in Delta Nove, blending funk and Brazilian beats with good ol' psychedelic jams. In addition to founding Delta Nove, Bobby has performed with renowned artists including Ozomatli, Long Beach Dub Allstars, George Clinton and many more.
Despite playing countless shows together, this is our very first time playing together as a duo. We are aiming to recapture some of that old school dNo show magic for this one. Bobby will start off with a DJ set, followed by a nice long set of us playing together. Bobby is not only a masterful guitarist and singer, but also a very talented Brazilian percussionist. He'll be bringing all his toys with him, and you'll hear some sounds on my songs that you've never heard before.
I can't wait - it's going to be really special. Show starts at 9pm, and there's no cover, so don't miss it!

Looking ahead, I'm eagerly returning to the majestic Sierras for the June Lake Jam Festival. I'll be playing with GrooveSession again, and we'll be joined by guitarist Joe Marcinek for our set. This is a really fun, family-friendly festival, and I know I'll see lots of familiar faces there.
Apart from music, personally my summer has been, well, summerin' a bunch. I've enjoyed a lot of quality time with my daughter and wife. We've gone camping, spent a day on Catalina island, enjoyed lots of outdoor concerts, worked on our softball skills, and spent plenty of time splashin' around at the beach.
With the school year starting up this week, I'm feeling a little bit wistful to see the freedom of summertime fun in the rearview mirror, but also excited to have more free time in the studio finishing up everything musical that I've been working on. I hope you're ready to hear some new songs from me, because they're coming, ready or not!
